Taking a mini break

Hey guys! I'm going to be in the wild. Literally, that is. For those who may not know, this coming weekend is a long weekend in Australia, so I'm going camping. That obviously means no technology, so don't try to miss me too much.

Beyond that, I'll be going to Melbourne for a few days next week. While I'll still be AWOL from my blog, I hope to get some nice makeup goodies like a good little blogger and share the love when I return. I also hope to catch up on everyone else's awesome blogs so I'll be ready to get back in the swing of things.

Eyeshadow: dark smoky eye

I decided to go for the opposite look from my last one and go for a dark smoky eye. I haven't used my Chanel Mirifique all over before, only as a liner, so that's what I did today. Because Mirifique is so glittery, I decided to keep the rest of the look matte.

Eyeshadow: barely there nude

If you're anything like me, sometimes you just can't be arsed doing anything amazing. This look is from yesterday and I was in a hurry so I put it together in about 5 minutes. It's inspired by a look Tracy from Beauty Reflections did a few days ago featuring Nude Beach from Bare Escentuals. I haven't worn this mineral eyeshadow in ages and it's actually one of the first ones I ever owned. So I grabbed it and thought this shimmery colour would be a great way to make a boring look more interesting.

Nails: Sally Hansen nail polish strips

I bought a set of Sally Hansen nail polish strips a couple of months ago when they were on special at Priceline, but I didn't get around to trying them out until just now. I got #208 Blue Ice, which is a steel blue glitter polish. It looks cool and I like the idea of it. Maybe it's just me, but I found it quite fiddly and annoying to apply.

Eyeshadow: some new FFC colours

As you guys know, I love Femme Fatale Cosmetics ( and just recently, the company released five new sets of eyeshadows: The Lord of the Centuries, The Mistress of Dreams, The Queen of Life, The Spellweaver and The Worldbreaker. There are five eyeshadows in each collection and I ordered the complete sample set. The following three looks are done using these colours. I chose the colours that I wanted to wear together, not based on collection, so I'll do my best to accurately tell you which collections they're from.

For the first look, I used two eyeshadows from the Worldbreaker collection.

Nails: Models Prefer Hickery & Zoya Fei Fei

So I actually bothered to do something mildly creative wit my nails this week. I recently got a set of five Models Own mini nail polishes in really dark colours (but no green! Poo), so I decided to give it a go. They were a bargain at $7.95 from Priceline. I teamed it with a new Zoya polish from the Diva collection, Fei Fei.

Eyeshadow: more Sugarpill!

Some more Sugarpill for you today! I got a couple of loose eyeshadows when I got my Heart Breaker palette, so here are a couple of looks using my newest sparklies. I also mentioned previously that I had gotten my hands on a Maybelline Color Tattoo, so I have photos of that as well, since I used it as a base in one of these looks. So on to the pics.

Nails: Butter London Knackered

Last week I finally got around to wearing Butter London's Knackered. It's such a pretty colour, even though it kind of looks a little meh in the bottle. It's not just a silvery grey with holographic glitter in it. It's got an awesome duochrome that's really hard to see from my crappy photo of the bottle. The other photos are much better and show its prettiness better. I just wish I'd thought to take photos out in the sun so you can see its full amazingness.
